Contacting Dr. Weathers
(continued) FAQsThe answers to most questions I receive are covered in the FAQs below. They are your quickest source of information Though, if you have further questions you may email me. Because I get hundreds of emails, it is much easier for me, and I can give you better responses, if you use the REPLY Button on your email program to respond to my email. That way I have all of our prior correspondence quickly available to refresh my memory. Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: Can you give me the names of prior patients who you have treated with CAER? Q: Can I call you on the phone and talk to you about my child/self...? Q: Can I order WebCAER? How does it work? Q: Do you treat adults with ADHD? _______________________ Q: Are the medications that my child is on the right ones. Should I have his medications changed to .....? A: I am not a physician, thus I am not licensed to give specific medication advice. However, all of these medications used for ADHD have severe side effects that you should be aware of before you consider any of them. Check out these websites www.ritalindeath.com, and www.meth-lab.com. Also check my website www.adhdhelp.org. It provides a good review of medications commonly used for ADHD. Q: Do you have a treatment center in ................ or do you know some one in ............. who uses your treatment methods? A: Since I invented, built and patented the CAER machine, I am the only one who has one. Thus, if you were interested in CAER treatment, you would have to come to Spokane for treatment. Q: Will you explain to me exactly how CAER works? A: What I do is both theoretically and procedurally too complex to explain in an email. The best source of information is my book, ADHD: A Path to Success. I would suggest you read my books, ADHD: Drug-free and doin's fine and ADHD: A Path to Success It will add a great deal to your understanding of ADHD. The next step would be for you to read my book. It goes into great detail about how treatment works. You will probably have to buy my book online. It is seldom available in local book stores. Having your local book store order it is the slowest of all possible ways of getting it. Use the online ordering from my website www.caer.com. Q: Can you give me the names of prior patients who you have treated with CAER? A: I will gladly give you some names and email addresses after you have read my book. I put in this stipulation because the people whose names I will give you have asked me to. The problem is that there have been people who have asked endless questions about issues that are answered in my book. Families whose names I will give you want to share their individual experiences, vs. explaining my theory and practice. When you have finished reading my book, contact me and I will give you the names and emails of some past patients. Q: Can I call you on the phone and talk to you about my child/self...? A: I would prefer to answer your initial questions via email since that is much more time efficient. i feel that I am very generous with my time, but to continue this, I must use my time efficiently. And email is much, much more efficient that telephone conversations. However, I will be glad to speak with you after your initial questions have been answered by email. If I have this background, our conversation can be much more productive. Q: Can I order WebCAER? How does it work? A: WebCAER is an online program that produces the same moving lights and sound that the CAER machine does. It provides an effective follow-up after treatment with the CAER machine in Spokane. Though I am getting many positive reports when used as follow-up by past patients, I do not think it is effective as a stand alone treatment. Therefore, it is not available as an independent treatment. I would rather offer no treatment than an ineffective. Q: Do you treat adults with ADHD? A: Though the majority of the patients I treat are ADHD children and their families, the same technology works very well with adults. Because the negative consequences of having ADHD, treatment takes somewhat longer.
